Hi everyone- This is Amanda Poitevin, a current Castle Bridge parent and a member of the board. Idaho Falls is lucky to have many great preschool options, including Castle Bridge! I am often asked what makes Castle Bridge different from other preschools, and here are some of my thoughts:
- Castle Bridge is a non-profit (501c3). This means that the school is able to keep prices at very affordable rates because no one is making a profit at the end of the day.
- I feel good knowing that my son isn't on a screen at school. There aren't any computers, iPads, or TVs at the school. They listen and dance to music, but it's usually from a CD player! In a world where tech seems to be everywhere, I love that my son is learning in a more old-fashioned way.
- Castle Bridge is a Christian preschool, housed in the First Presbyterian Church in central Idaho Falls. Students and families of all faiths are welcome, and the teachers lead the students in a short nondenominational prayer at the beginning of the day and at snack time.
- The students have ample play time, both inside and outside every day. Even in the winter, they go outside every day unless the wind chill is below 10 degrees. I appreciate the fact that they have a dedicated outdoor playground AND a full-sized gym to play in inside!
- The maximum class size is 14, with two teachers.
- The school organizes a field trip somewhere fun every month! My son always looks forward to the excursions. Last year, they went to the pumpkin patch, the zoo, and the museum among other places!
- You can sign up for three or four days a week. I know I and other parents appreciate this flexibility.
If you'd like to know more, please message the school via Facebook or the website, and a member of the board will be in touch.
