It was an incredible Legislative Action Conference sponsored by SNA.

We heard valuable insights from USDA Deputy Under Secretary Patrick Penn and his team on the new food pyramid, and inspiring reminders from Patti Montague and Brandon Lipps that the work we do feeding children truly matters—and that school nutrition professionals are the experts.

Child Nutrition professionals across the country remain committed to serving healthy meals to help our students learn and thrive.

Looking forward to tomorrow - meeting with our Idaho Senators and Representatives to discuss what the future looks like for Child Nutrition.

Our Child Nutrition director, Heather Plain, is in Washington DC advocating for Child Nutrition programs this week.

She is the Public Policy and Legislation co-chair for the Idaho School Nutrition Association.

President, Carla Hogue and President-Elect Rene Osman are also sharing their voices.

The week started off at Georgetown University with Executive Leadership training.

Today we celebrate our 2026 SNA Executive Leadership Program Cohort! 🎉

More than 50 school nutrition leaders came together at Georgetown University for a full day of learning, reflection and leadership growth, strengthening the skills needed to lead programs and support the students and communities they serve every day.

Thank you to our incredible sponsors E S Foods, SFSPac Food Safety and Sanitation-K12 and ITW Food Equipment Group, whose support makes this opportunity possible.

Join us in celebrating this incredible group of leaders! Drop a 👏 or 🎉 in the comments to congratulate the 2026 cohort.
