Two of our favorite little humans are moving! 😢

Country Bumpkins Early Learning Center is currently looking for a few little friends ages 18 months–5 years to join us! We offer a country fun environment focused on kindergarten readiness, creativity, kindness, music & movement, and hands-on learning through play.

Located on 32 acres just outside of Ucon, we provide extended hours for working families while creating a warm, home-like atmosphere where children can learn, grow, and thrive at their own pace.

Z is for zipline… and that’s what we did!

We didn’t just make a zipline—we made TWO because obviously one just isn’t chaotic enough. Then we made cartoon versions of ourselves and raced each other down.

The lesson was all about gravity and friction, and they learned… gravity is the reason you actually go and friction is the reason you don’t go too fast but mostly cartoon pictures of us being silly + throwing stuff off the balcony = it’s pretty fun!

10/10 would zipline again

Today our little scientists explored the magic of “Walking Water” for letter w week.

Using cups, paper towels, and colored water, we watched as the colors slowly walked from one cup to the next and mixed together to make brand new colors. The kids were excited to watch the water climb up the paper towel and travel across like a tiny rainbow bridge!

Safe to say… we have some future scientists in this class!

You simply can NOT have science during Letter V week and NOT blow up a volcano or two.

Today our little scientists learned all about chemical reactions! We talked about what happens when different ingredients mix together and create something new — in our case… bubbly, colorful “lava!”

We explored different methods of making our eruptions to see what would happen. There were lots of excited cheers and enthusiastic countdowns before each explosion.

V is for Volcano… and it definitely did not disappoint!

Since we’re on Letter U, we explored the concept of “Up and Down!”

The kids made their very own jellyfish and tested whether they were too light or too heavy inside their water bottles. This was such a great hands-on way to learn about problem solving! They had to adjust their jellyfish until it was just right .. which was a process!!

Once we got them balanced, we discovered that when you squeeze the bottle, the jellyfish swim up and down! Which takes some serious preschool hand strength!

And in true preschool fashion… some scientists got a little rambunctious and shook their bottles — so now a few jellyfish are peacefully “sleeping” at the bottom. 😉
