Region 6 RPC OUR MISSION: to reduce Alcohol, To***co and other Drug related problems thru coordinated community coalition driven efforts. www.odmhsas.org

The Region 6, Regional Prevention Coordinators (RPC) serving McCurtain, Choctaw, Pushmataha and Leflore counties in Southeast Oklahoma is a community-focused, prevention based initiative (funded by ODMHSAS www.odmhsas.org/prevention) supporting local communities in creating healthier environments. The RPC seeks to build regional relationships, provide training and technical assistance and assist w

ith educating that Prevention begins within communities--helping individuals to learn that they can have an impact in solving their local problems and setting local norms. Our Philosophy is “Changing Norms, Changing Lives”
We do this by implementing and supporting the Strategic Prevention Framework and some of the following services:
Assistance with Alcohol and To***co compliance operations
Technical Support to Area Coalitions in the four County Area
Youth Conferences/Youth Leadership Training
Town Hall Meetings
Responsible Beverage Service and Sales Training
Community Mobilization
Too Much Too Lose Youth Groups
Technical Support to minimize gaps in current local laws through passing model local ordinances
Other Environmental Strategies Information Dissemination

Region 6 Director and staff conducted Responsible Beverage Sales and Service (RBSS) training for Hochatown Saloon staff. The training is now required for those who sell and serve alcohol and who have applied for their new/renew alcoholic beverage license within 14 days after applying with the state Alcohol and Beverage Law Enforcement Commission. (A.B.L.E.) Pictured is Robbie Mullens,Director and Certified Trainer,not pictured but assisting with training is Kristy Woolsey,Prevention Coordinator and Certified Trainer.

Did you know that the Oklahoma To***co Helpline serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma? When the number of Helpline registrants per adult population is considered, some of the less densely populated counties had the greatest number of to***co users registering for services per 1,000 adults.

For example, Craig, McCurtain and Woodward counties had some of the highest rates of registration, with 17 or more registrants per 1,000 adult population in 2018.

Region 6 has scheduled RBSS training for next Wednesday November 7,2018 from 1:00p.m.-3:30 p.m. at Kiamichi Technology Center in the Business Center behind the Vo Tech in Idabel. This is being offered for employees who may need training. The new law changed October 1st. You will need to log on to the link below to complete the pre- test at
