Homecoming Week is almost here, and we want our entire community to get in on the fun!

The 𝐎𝐀𝐁𝐂𝐈𝐆 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 invites local businesses to decorate their windows and show off their Falcon Spirit for Homecoming Week, September 8–11! 🦅

THIS YEAR’S THEME: “𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗚𝗢𝗧 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘!”

Whether you go all out or keep it simple, we want to see your Falcons Got Game window! Get creative, have fun, and let us see your Falcon spirit!

📸 How to participate:
Decorate your windows, snap a photo, and email it to [email protected] by Tuesday, September 8.

🏆 The OABCIG Student Council will vote on their favorite, and the winning business will take home the traveling trophy!

The 𝐎𝐀𝐁𝐂𝐈𝐆 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 would like to welcome all students back to school with a 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 breakfast on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 28𝐭𝐡.

Breakfast is available for purchase each morning of school from 7:45 until school starts. Regular access to a healthy school breakfast is one of the best ways to support students' ability to learn and overall well-being.

The 𝐎𝐁𝐂𝐈𝐆 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 has an immediate opening for 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 for the 𝐎𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐭 building. Approximate hours (7:30am-2:00pm) per day during the school year.

This position would be perfect for the stay-at-home parent or retiree looking to supplement their income. Benefits include IPERS, paid sick leave and personal leave.

Must have the physical capability to be on your feet most of the day and do the lifting required in the preparation, serving and cleaning up of meals as directed by the Food Service Director. Basic knowledge of food preparation and food safety is needed, as well as enjoying working with children and adults.

A Support Staff Application is available to be downloaded on the school website www.oabcig.org under district careers or may be picked up from any OABCIG location.

Please join us in welcoming Yevette Jesse to OABCIG Community Schools! Yevette will be joining the team at Ida Grove Elementary as a 1st Grade Teacher.

Yevette is excited to meet everyone, get to know her students and families, and become more familiar with the OABCIG community. She brings nearly seven years of experience as a paraeducator at Hubbard-Radcliffe Elementary to her new role.

Yevette earned her bachelor’s degree from William Penn University, graduating in the fall of 2025. This will be her first year as a classroom teacher, and she is excited to learn more about OABCIG and get to know the students, staff, and community.

We’re excited to have Yevette join the Falcon family and wish her a wonderful first year of teaching! Welcome to OABCIG, Yevette!

Please join us in welcoming Melissa Ausborn to OABCIG Community Schools! Melissa will be joining our team as a K-5 Physical Education Teacher.

Melissa is especially excited to watch our students grow in their skills and confidence throughout the school year. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University and brings three years of experience as a substitute teacher to her new role.

This will be Melissa’s first official year as a classroom teacher, and we’re excited to have her bring her energy and enthusiasm to our students in physical education!
