๐๐พ Feeding Those Who Feed Us ๐พ๐
Our hearts are full of gratitude as we reflect on another successful Ida County Farm Bureau and Ida County SWCD Feed the Farmer Event. What began as a simple way to thank our local farmers has continued to grow, and this year we were excited to expand our program by adding new partners to our efforts.
We are incredibly thankful for Farm Bureau Financial Services Agent Denise Van Dusen and Sales Associate Braden Else for providing bottled water and to the Ida County Pork Producers for donating pork sticks. Their addition helped us reach even more of the hardworking farmers, hired hands, spouses, family members, and everyone working behind the scenes to ensure a safe and successful harvest and joining forces with us.
On Tuesday, October 13, volunteers delivered 400 harvest appreciation bags, each beautifully decorated by the 4th-grade students participating in Siouxland Agriculture in the Classroom. The bags were filled with sandwiches, chips, cheese sticks, a large Hersheyโs Kiss Bar, apples, cookies, pork sticks, water, and other treats to help keep harvest crews fueled throughout their day.
A special thank you also goes to Ida Grove Food Pride for their behind-the-scenes support, along with all the volunteers and workers who helped organize, assemble, and deliver the bags. Your time, generosity, and dedication made this day possible.
Harvest is one of the busiest times of the year, and this event is our small way of saying thank you to those who work long hours to provide food, fuel, and fiber for our communities. We are blessed to live in a county that comes together to support agriculture and the people who make it thrive.
๐๐ฝ Thank you to everyone who helped us grow this tradition of gratitude. We wish all of our harvest crews a safe, productive, and successful harvest season! ๐ฝ๐
Here are some great pictures that we captured throughout our travels of the rural Ida County.
