If your child likes the water, they are going to LOVE water polo!

Give them 6 weeks to make awesome new friends, build incredible endurance, and master the oldest team sport in the Olympics.

No experience needed. Just a love for swimming and a drive to try something new!

What an awesome weekend we had in Dallas at the 3rd session of the 2026 Junior Olympics!

We had a team that consisted of some of the strongest players from several teams - Cache (5), Tooele (2), Cyprus (2), Bear River (1), Ogden (1), and a Colorado team (3). Our boys went into the tournament without a single practice together as a full team, but they played their hardest! We competed in the Platinum division against some of the toughest competition from the East coast and in Texas! Our boys competed with the competition and came out even with a 4-4 spread. The games they did lose, it was never a blow out, and we competed! So out boys will come back to their clubs with some new skills, and the knowledge that they too can compete with some of the higher competition in our state!

We also enjoyed some delicious BBQ joints! Even Coach Connor’s baby became a meat eating dinosaur when the tangy BBQ was put in front of him! 😂

All along the way, we met some new friends, made new acquaintances with other teams/coaches, and hoped to put Utah more on the map of water polo to have new teams come and play against us in Utah!

Great job boys! Way to represent Cache Valley United!

This explains so much about the lifeguard hero! Water Polo player 😎

🚨UPDATE: Update on Our Hero Lifeguard Ryder Williams, who is just 16 years old!

Ryder says he refused to let go of the child because he knew the boy would almost certainly die if he did.

Ryder’s father Shane “I almost started crying because how determined he was to save that boy’s life makes me so proud.”

Shockingly, Ryder made ANOTHER rescue that day under circumstances MORE difficult than the ones seen on the viral clip, pulling 2 more people to safety.

Ryder has proven to be extremely humble, stating he doesn’t understand all the attention because he was just doing what anyone else would.

Several bystanders went against policy to help Ryder save the drowning boy, but the surf rebuffed them, and they retreated.

Ryder’s parents attribute his incredible water skills to years of playing intense water polo, where he played the position of hole set, which means constantly fighting off opponents. His parents joked about being uncomfortable “with everyone trying to drown our boy”.

Ryder and his family have been invited to the White House by President Trump, where Ryder will receive a civilian award 🥇

What a season we have had! We are so thankful for all the players who have put their hearts into playing so hard this season, the coaches that have given so much time to help our players learn how to aggressively play this sport, and the parents for driving all the players to all the games!

As we go into the final day of water polo this season both our 18U Boys and Girls teams are going into the Gold Medal games for Division 2 for the state of Utah!

The BIG 1️⃣5️⃣ - Emmerson Jones! A senior that has grown from a small scrawny kid a few years ago, into a fierce center defender with long arms that has a crazy half lob that just always amazes everyone when it sails into he net behind the goalie!
