🩺❤️ Paging all doctors! Mrs. Weir’s First Grade is officially in surgery!❤️🩺
For the third year in a row, our first-grade classroom was transformed into several operating rooms as we wrapped up our study of the human body! When students returned from recess, they discovered their classroom was locked and labeled **“Authorized Personnel Only!”** 👩⚕️👨⚕️
After getting outfitted in their surgical gear, our doctors got straight to work! Their busy day included:
🩸 Writing heart words in blood (don’t worry, it was just pretend! 😉)
💀 Building a life-size skeleton
🩻 Creating X-rays of their own hands
🩺 Giving checkups with the guidance of Nurse Abby
🥗 All doctors need a lunch break and we had ours with a healthy food taste test.
And these doctors know their stuff! Ask them what they learned, and they might tell you that the human body has 206 bones, the gluteus maximus is our largest muscle, the heart pumps blood throughout the body in about a minute, and digestion can take around two days to complete! 🧠❤️
We quite possibly have some future doctors in our class!🩺
It was so much fun watching them put their knowledge to work and seeing their excitement throughout the day.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this special day possible! We couldn’t do it without you!
