Happy International Chefs Day!
Today, we celebrate our extraordinary CIA alumni, Fellows, faculty, students, and all chefs who use food to connect, inspire, and care for others. Whether leading a kitchen, mentoring future chefs, or creating moments of joy around the table, your passion enriches lives and strengthens our global culinary community.
At the CIA, we take pride in changemaking alumni like Chef Cat Cora ’95, founder of Chefs for Humanity, and Chef Johnny Hernandez ’89, founder of Kitchen Campus. Both utilize their craft to fight hunger, empower youth, and uplift communities through food.
Their legacy is carried on by students like Cory Stevens ’26, who aspires to provide culinary education to families facing food insecurity. With scholarship support, Cory and other CIA students are learning to make the world a better place, one meal at a time.

Another successful Alumni Weekend and Run for Your Knives in the books!!
It was SO wonderful seeing your familiar faces around campus once again. The weekend sure flew by but was fun, insightful, and rewarding. Plus, President Michiel Bakker got to experience his first Run for Your Knives race and even blew the starting horn.
