GMTCC Creative Media Art and Design

GMTCC Creative Media Art and Design GMTCC Multimedia and Design Program Creative Media Art & Design is where art and technology come together.

Over the course of the school year students explore a variety of media including graphic design, illustration, photography, animation, and filmmaking. Creative Media offers career opportunities to aspiring artists, designers, communicators and entrepreneurs. It is about art, design, communication and storytelling; it is also about working with people. Qualified graduates can find entry-level posit

ions in variety of businesses ranging from advertising and design companies to work at TV stations, and film production companies. Many graduates continue on with their studies at art schools or in more traditional college programs. Over the year, students work to create a comprehensive portfolio of work, which showcases their talents. Guest professionals and participation in art exhibitions and competitions are integral parts of the program. Students can earn up to 9 college credits in the program. These credits are free through Vermont's Dual Enrollment and Fast Forward Programs.

The GMTCC Creative Media program has designed shoes for the Vans Custom Culture Competition and has been selected as a top 50 entry among submissions from across the entire country! They now need YOUR help to move into the top 5, where our program will earn $15,000 and the potential to win $50,000. Our exhibition "Beyond borders/Más allá de las Fronteras" opens tomorrow at Museo Tamayo, in Mexico City! Many thanks to Primal for including our work in the show, which will be exhibited in the education space the museum. The exhibition includes photos by Art and Design students from The National Autonomous University of Mexico and Creative Media Art & Design students from Green Mountain Tech, in Hyde Park Vermont. The work was created as a part of a cross cultural photo exchange between students from Vermont and Mexico last spring. There will be a panel discussion at the museum later this week to discuss the project.

This post is about a project GMTCC Creative Media Art and Design completed last sprint. Students will have work on display at the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City https://www.timeout.com/mexico-city/museums/museo-tamayo-arte-contemporaneo The event was created and made possible by Primal Studios in Mexico City and is part of BPRW and and Foto Red Mexico City. We worked with Primal, Marilyn Montufar and students from the National Automous Museum in Mexico City to create the photographs in this show. Showing artwork at the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City is very big deal. The show will take place in the education space at the museum. There will also be a panel discussion about the project at the museum. More details to follow.
