Skywatchers in parts of 15 northern U.S. states could be in for a show of Northern Lights overnight on Friday, Jan. 16, through Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, according to a forecast by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center.

If you missed the incredible Northern Lights tonight (November 11), don’t worry — the show isn’t over yet!

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, November 12, the auroras are expected to be even brighter and more colorful, with strong solar activity continuing to energize Earth’s atmosphere. Expect vivid green, red, and blue lights dancing across the sky — possibly visible much farther south than usual!
