Destination Imagination Child Care & Play-school is hiring for SUBSTITUTE CAREGIVERS. These positions have the potential to become permanent part-time (possibly full-time) positions in the future with paid time off and holiday pay.

Experience in licensed child care in the state of Utah is preferred, but not required... we can train any individual that loves children and sees them as the autonomous individuals that they are! Must be 18 or older (or turning 18 by the end of the year) and have (or be willing to get) current Infant/Child/Adult CPR/First Aid Certification (with hands-on training) and a Utah food handlers permit prior to employment. Ability to pass a background check (with fingerprints) through Utah’s Department of Health & Human Services is also required before working with children in care.

***THIS IS NOT A BABYSITTING JOB!*** Basic responsibilities pertain to maintaining the basic health and safety of children & the environment and having developmentally appropriate interactions with children in care that support their physical, cognitive, social & emotional development. We expect caregivers to work with parents, children, and other caregivers to promote an environment of mutual trust & respect. We also have an all-inclusive program that supports the individuality and diversity of children, parents, caregivers, and family types.

We provide care for infants through school age children Monday-Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm. Pay through orientation & training is $10-12/hour based on experience & education as you will not be working independently. Pay increases once training is complete and is dependent on previous experience, education, and performance through training.
