Wilhelm Violin Studio Amy Wilhelm loves to assist people of all ages with some of the most fulfilling experiences in life. Amy adapts to the learning style of individuals.

Amy Wilhelm is a violin teacher who graduated from Weber State University in 1991 with a BA in Secondary Music Education/Instrumental Education. Before having children, she worked as a middle/high school orchestra teacher but has primarily taught violin students of all ages, learning styles, and personalities since 1986. Her teaching philosophy aligns with Shinichi Suzuki's "every child can." Ever

y child/person is brilliant, and there are many ways of learning. The study of music with Amy enriches and balances the lives of students. Amy has enjoyed performing with orchestras and chamber music groups and serving her church and community by volunteering, including the Cache Valley String Festival treasurer. She and her husband, Todd, have been married since 1988, have raised seven children, and currently enjoy 11 grandchildren.

Our studio went on an outing yesterday. We sat in on a Utah Symphony rehearsal with world-class conductor, Delyana Lazarova. My violin students were particularly impressed with her conducting skills. They were also mesmerized by the violin section's use of the ricochet bowing in the Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade in addition to the beautiful violin solos. I loved the U.S. Premiere of Dobrinka Tabakova's Orpheus Comet!

We then enjoyed and were inspired by a tour/seminar with Peter Prier and Sons Violin Making School of America and Shop. It was fantastic to learn more about how the science and craftsmanship in creating a string instrument was developed through the centuries.

Yesterday's trip to SLC was one of those surreal moments I'll never forget! Thanks to all those who make the Utah Symphony experience possible and to the team at Priers!

I'm getting excited to perform with my friends this Saturday. The music is fantastic and playing it for our friends and family will be enjoyable for all.

The concert is a sendoff party for Vanese, our violist. She's heading back to get a masters degree in conducting. We're going to miss her.
