On June 4th, several of our Chelsea School students received their 2026 Michael Cardin Scholarships from our friends at MANSEF. We're so proud of our students for all of their hard work, and for the wonderful opportunities these scholarships will provide. A special shout-out goes to our 9th grader Amandine, who once again spoke before a large crowd telling about her experience at Chelsea and the importance of MANSEF schools as part of the continuum of educational services. We want to thank MANSEF for this support and for being our constant advocate and champion!

Congratulations to our 8th graders who were promoted to high school on Friday. Ms. Stouffer, our Middle Division Coordinator, emceed a beautiful ceremony where we got to hear moving words from our 8th graders. We're so proud of how far they've come, and can't wait to watch them grow in high school.

The Chelsea School Alumni Association would like to welcome nine new members from the Class of 2026! Today they graduate from high school, joining countless Chelsea alumni in college and the world of work. We wish them great success in the future.

Want a sneak peek of Chelsea School's new campus? Renovations are currently nearing completion at the new Chelsea School in Laurel, MD. The new building will add about 30% more space for Chelsea School's programs. Our summer ESY program will take place at our Hyattsville campus, and we will be welcoming students and families to our new building in late August, prior to the start of the 2026-27 school year. In November, we will be welcoming Chelsea alumni, families, and friends to our 50th Anniversary Gala. Stay tuned for more updates!

Last week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week with lots of treats, goodies, and gifts, but on Thursday, we paused as a school community to honor and celebrate one of the most important members of our staff. Ms. Ana is the heart and soul of our school. Her tireless work ethic and friendly, warm demeanor is a model for our students and staff alike. She cares about everyone and works hard to make our school feel like a home. Although she hates public displays of appreciation, we couldn't help ourselves. We love you, Ms. Ana!!
