Art Works Now

Art Works Now We build & nurture community through inclusive visual arts & social justice experiences We believe that art works, on both an individual and community level.

Art Works Now was founded in 1990 after we recognized the need for a well-rounded approach to creative arts education. Today, with a new studio home, Art Works has expanded its range of classes and refined its mission. By providing an avenue for students to envision, create and exhibit their artwork, we can realize this vision in a tangible and holistic way. Mindful of the relationship between cre

ative education and the creative development of our community, we remain committed to teaching art technique, encouraging each student to “see” in their own way, and providing multiple opportunities to explore, express and demonstrate their vision. Art Works Studio School offers a “blank canvas” for every student to develop their individual creativity. We provide the tools, techniques, and a great studio space, along with instruction that encourages creative exploration, and peers for encouragement and collaboration. Our mission is to inspire creativity and confidence in people of all ages through arts education. Our primary goals are to offer affordable visual and life arts classes for all ages, provide an avenue for emerging artists to exhibit works, and to create a safe, fun environment for youth within their community. The life of a community benefits when people realize their potential and explore their creativity. In this way, art works!

We need our community right now. 💚

$40,000 in critical funding for Art Works Now has been put on hold, and we don’t know if or when we’ll receive it.

We’ve launched a GoFundMe to help bridge the gap and keep our programs running at full capacity, including the free and sliding-scale classes that make art accessible to so many in our community.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 by August 31, and thanks to a generous donor, gifts received this month will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

If you can make a gift, thank you. If you can share this fundraiser, that helps too.

Please help us keep the art going. 💚

Our community needs art. And right now, Art Works Now needs you. 💚

Every day, children, adults, older adults, and families come through our doors to create, connect, learn, and belong. Your support makes those experiences possible.

The funding landscape remains incredibly challenging, and the cost of providing our programs continues to rise. We need the support of our community to keep this work going.

If Art Works Now has made a difference for you, your family, or your community, please consider making a gift today.

Every gift helps keep the art going.

VISUAL POETICS - This multigenre workshop will focus on poetry beyond the written or spoken, exploring how it can expand into the visual, material, and interdisciplinary arts.

Students will expand their personal visual vocabulary, understand relationships between text and image or material arts.

We will engage with the history of language and symbols, what that means for us as artists and people
today, and how we can leverage another medium in creating art and meaning.
