Sometimes, a simple card can make a big difference.

Barnstable Police Officer Pete Ginnetty was injured on September 13 when he was struck by a driver while directing traffic at the Melody Tent. After multiple surgeries and a long hospital stay, he was recently able to return home to continue his recovery.

Wanting to let Officer Ginnetty know that his community is thinking of him, sixth grader Ellie F. came up with the idea to organize a card-making event. Ellie shared her idea at a schoolwide assembly and created a slideshow to inspire her classmates to get involved. More than 40 JPII students in grades 5–7 showed up during their free X-Block period to create cards of encouragement, each one a reminder to Officer Ginnetty that he has people rooting for him as he heals.

We're proud of Ellie for taking the initiative and bringing our students together for such a thoughtful gesture.

We are all sending Officer Ginnetty our very best wishes for continued healing and recovery!

Every student in our Preparatory Division contributed to this beautiful collaborative artwork outside the Art Room!

Each artist created a unique 6x6" diamond using oil pastels, and together, the pieces form a radiant cross and glowing background. Inspired by this year's 8th Grade "Mosaic Class," the artwork is a beautiful reflection of our JPII community: many individual pieces coming together to create something greater.

This morning at our Preparatory Division, we held our Student Council Induction Ceremony. It was wonderful to see our new student leaders recognized and to celebrate the leadership team we are building within the Prep. I look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish this year!

Our Preparatory Division students are putting new resources to work, thanks to the generosity of JPII donors!

With new microscopes bringing science learning to life and new whiteboards giving students more space to share ideas, present their work, and collaborate, these investments are making a difference in our classrooms every day.

This is donor support in action, providing our students with the tools they need to explore, learn, and discover.

Congratulations to Jamison Ballou, Class of 2027!

We're proud to share that Jamison has been named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program!

This national recognition honors students who demonstrate exceptional academic promise through their outstanding performance on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Jamison is among just 34,000 high-performing students nationwide to receive this distinction! Way to go, Jamison!

Election Day is here at the Preparatory Division!

Our student leaders have been busy campaigning and sharing their platforms with the student body ahead of today's Student Council elections. We're proud of every student who stepped up to run and represent their classmates.

One of the things I appreciate about our school is the willingness of our faculty and staff to take on new challenges.

This year, Dan Smith and Caitie McPherson continue to do what they do best in the classroom while also taking on additional school administrative responsibilities, working alongside Paula Daly and Mona Lisa Valentino, respectively. I'm grateful for their willingness to support our school in these new ways, and I wish them well in their new roles.
