➗✨ Breaking division down into smaller, manageable steps makes a BIG difference!

Our math teacher leaders are demonstrating flexible grouping as a strategy for teaching division. Students learn to break apart numbers into friendly, manageable groups to make division easier to understand and solve.

It’s all about finding efficient ways to work with numbers, building understanding, and making those “aha!” moments happen! 💡🧮

❗❓🧡 Period. Question Mark. Exclamation Point! Oh, My! 🧡🦛

Our amazing LMES First Graders celebrated National Punctuation Day on September 24th, and let’s just say… they made every mark count! ✏️📚

Our little learners explored the power of punctuation as they:
❗ Practiced choosing the correct end mark for each sentence.
❓ Read sentences with expressive voices and curious questions.
‼️ Discovered how exclamation points add excitement and BIG feelings to their words!

Through fun, hands-on activities, our first graders learned that punctuation does more than end a sentence — it helps us share our thoughts, ask questions, and bring our words to life! 💬✨

We’re putting a period on another wonderful learning adventure, but there’s always more to discover at LMES!

Learn. Lead. Succeed. One sentence at a time! 🧡🦛

🧡 Going Above and Beyond: Celebrating Our LMES Custodial Team! 🦛

At Lee Martinez Elementary, it takes an incredible team to make our school feel like home, and our six amazing custodians do so much more than keep our campus clean! They show up every day with caring hearts, helping hands, and a willingness to go above and beyond for our students and staff.

This photo captures one of those special moments. When a student was upset, one of our custodians took the time to speak with her in Spanish, helping her feel heard, understood, and supported. ❤️ It’s a beautiful reminder that the little moments of kindness often make the biggest difference.

Today, and every day, we are grateful for Mary, Edgar, Sean, Fany, Yolanda, and Megan! Thank you for the hard work, compassion, and dedication you bring to LMES. You are an important part of what makes Hippo Nation so special!

🧡 Our custodial team doesn't just take care of our school — they take care of our people.
