Our Guiding Coalition each selected one staff member to recognize for the month of August, highlighting the hard work, dedication, resilience, positivity, and heart they bring to Hutto Elementary every day. 👏🏼

We are so lucky to have a staff that shows up for our students, supports one another, and goes above and beyond to make HES a special place to learn and grow.

🚌📍Kindergartners were on the move!

This week our kindergartners had a fun-filled day learning about the locations of important places in their environment! With a little help from Pigeon from Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, they explored our school and discovered where all the important places are. 🐦🗺️

And of course, we had to finish our adventure back in the classroom with a special Bus Snack! 🚌🍪

Learning is always more fun when you can explore, discover, and enjoy a snack along the way! 💙

Our Open House will include a two informational sessions PLUS a classroom visit! Teachers will share important grade-level information, ParentSquare, grading procedures, and general campus information. Title I information will also be shared.

🤝✨ Teamwork makes the dream work!✨🤝

Mrs. Hunt’s 4th graders practiced Habit 6: Synergize today! They talked about what it means to be a strong team and how working together can help us accomplish more.

Then, they put their teamwork skills to the test by taking on the Human Knot Challenge!🔗🙌

There was plenty of problem-solving, communication, and collaboration as our Hippos worked together to untangle themselves. What a fun way to practice being better together! 💙🧡

Join us for the Hutto Hippos vs. Harker Heights Knights Freedom Game as we come together to celebrate and honor the brave men and women who serve our country and community.

🎟️ FREE GAME TICKETS & FOOD for Veterans, Active Military, and First Responders while supplies last!

📅 Game Day: Friday, August 28, 2026
🕕 Gates Open: 6:00 PM
👥 All-Game Honorees: 6:50 PM
🏈 Kickoff: 7:30 PM

The first 100 military members and first responders will receive a ticket/voucher to redeem at the Home South Concession Stand for FREE food and a drink from 6:00–6:30 PM.

Mrs. Tigrett’s kindergarteners were acting as scientists today! 🔬👩‍🔬 They used a variety of tools to carefully observe a sweet potato and then described its properties using their scientific observations.

We love seeing our youngest Hippos explore, wonder, and learn like real scientists! 💡🐾

We had a wonderful first day at Hutto Elementary, and we are ready to make Day 2 just as amazing! 💫
