The Family Learning Action Team is kicking off a monthly Leader in Me Habit Bingo challenge for families!

Each month, we’ll focus on a different habit with fun activities families can complete together!

September’s focus is Habit 1: Be Proactive! 👍

Complete as many bingo activities as you can, then send pictures or a short explanation of what your family did to your grade level representative (see picture below)!

Your family might even get a shout-out on next month’s bingo board! 🌟

Check out our Kindergarten students walking down the hall with a bubble and being helpful in the lunch line. 🦛

Mrs. Bunch's 3rd graders were learning about Habit #6, Synergizing, and how what we can do together is more than what we could do alone! 🤝

Ms. Weaver's 4th grade class was graced with a king for the day while learning classroom procedures. 👑

‼️ Attention all military-connected and first responder families! ‼️

🧍‍♂️ We’re excited to share a special opportunity for our military-connected students and students of first responders at this year’s Freedom Game on Friday, August 28. 🏈

👮 Each year, we take time to recognize and honor our veterans, active-duty military members, and first responders at our annual Freedom Game. This year, we’ve been given the opportunity to also recognize our military-connected students and students of first responders during the pregame ceremony.

👩‍🚒 During the pregame recognition, veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, military-connected students, and students of first responders will be recognized on the track as their military branch or first responder group is announced. Anyone participating in the recognition should arrive by 6:00 p.m.

🧍‍♀️ We have 100 complimentary ticket vouchers available specifically for military-connected students and students of first responders who would like to participate in the pregame recognition. Students using a ticket voucher must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Upon arrival, families who secured the free ticket vouchers will need to check in at the Parent & Family Engagement booth to receive their free ticket voucher. The booth will be set up at the front of the stadium.

🎯 Important admission information:
Military-connected students and students of first responders may receive one of the 100 complimentary ticket vouchers by registering via the link below. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

🎖️ Veterans, active-duty military members, and first responders receive free admission with a valid military ID or employee ID/badge. They do not need to register for a free ticket voucher. Everyone participating in the pregame recognition should arrive by 6:00 p.m.

👍 Eligible students can use the Freedom Game - Military Connected & First Responder Student form to register and secure one of the complimentary tickets. The form will close once all 100 ticket vouchers have been claimed or at the end of the day on August 26, 2026, whichever comes first. Click this link to access the form:

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! We are officially one sleep away from the first day of the 2026–2027 school year, and we cannot wait to welcome our leaders back to Howard Norman! ✨
