🚨🦛 On Friday, June 5, the 𝗛𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗦𝗗 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 hosted a large-scale emergency training exercise at 𝗟𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘇 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

The exercise gave public safety personnel an opportunity to strengthen preparedness, practice coordinated response procedures and improve interagency communication during emergency situations.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴:

Hutto ISD also extends appreciation to the Theatre Department, Campus Safety, Operations and Lee Martinez Elementary School staff for supporting the exercise and helping make this training opportunity possible.

Preparedness takes partnership, planning and practice. We are grateful for the agencies, departments and staff who continue working together to support the safety of students, staff and the Hippo Nation community.

Getting ready for the 2026–27 school year… but first, we stretch. 🦛

Hutto ISD campus leaders are warming up for the work ahead as they prepare to lead with purpose across Hippo Nation.

🧡🦛 Hutto ISD campus leaders are already 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟕 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫.

Last week, principals and assistant principals came together for a 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 focused on reflection, connection and direction as they prepare to lead their campuses into the year ahead.

Campus leaders spent time strengthening their leadership purpose, building a shared instructional framework, digging into student data, unpacking curriculum and developing 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 designed to support teaching and learning across Hippo Nation.

The retreat also included a special ceremony honoring the work of our principals. Each principal received a Hutto Letterman Jacket as a symbol of the leadership, responsibility and commitment they carry every day for students, staff and families.

The jacket starts empty by design. Over time, patches will represent the wins, milestones, growth and campus culture each principal helps build and protect.

This work is about more than preparing for a new school year. It is about leading with purpose, staying focused on students and building the conditions for excellence across every campus.

If your family hasn’t started yet, there’s still time to jump in with a simple summer routine.
