This week we had a blast at the Cross Creek Community Pool, sharing stories, giving away books, and connecting with families. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to read, learn, and have some fun with us!

🦈 We also have some exciting news... Sharky the Backpack has officially been reunited with his owner! After a week of adventures around Hutto, enjoying a tuna fish sandwich, playing games, and exploring town, Sharky is finally back where he belongs.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM at the Cross Creek Pool for a morning full of stories, books, and summer fun!

Each day features special guest readers from our local first responders:

🚒 Tuesday – Hutto Fire Rescue
🚓 Wednesday – Hutto ISD Police Department

Bring the kids, cool off at the pool, and stop by the Reading Ready Bus to pick up FREE books, enjoy story time, and keep those reading skills growing all summer long.

Week 1 of the Reading Ready Bus Tour is in the books! 📚🚌☀️

We wrapped up three amazing days at Riverwalk Pool, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible support of our community.

A huge THANK YOU to the Hutto Police Department, Hutto Fire Rescue, Hutto ISD Police Department, and Temple College Official Page for spending time with our families, reading with our students, and helping make literacy fun all week long.

To the families who joined us—thank you for showing up and making this program so special. And to those who surprised us with Starbucks gift cards and RR Donuts, thank you! After early mornings on the bus, nothing beats coffee and donuts. ☕🍩

We're just getting started! Join us next week at Cross Creek Pool, Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for books, reading fun, community partners, and plenty of smiles.

Come see us for our final stop at the Riverwalk pool. Today we have Temple College with handing out continuing education material. We also had the Hutto ISD Police Department with us too.

UPDATE: Sharky the backpack had been reunited with his owner!

🚨 ATTENTION! ATTENTION! 🚨

One of our Reading Ready Bus friends accidentally left behind their shark backpack, so we've been keeping Sharky the backpack company while we search for his owner.

Today, Sharky the backpack had quite the adventure around Hutto! He visited some local hippos, stopped at McAlister's for lunch (turns out his favorite menu item is the tuna fish sandwich... shocking, we know 🐟😆) played games at Hooky, and cooled off with a sweet treat from Amy's Ice Cream.

After all that excitement, Sharky the backpack squeezed in a little reading time and a well-deserved nap.

While he's having a fintastic time exploring town, Sharky the backpack would really love to be reunited with his owner. If you recognize this backpack, send us a message so we can help Sharky the backpack find his way home! ❤️📚🦈
