A lot of learning happens outside the classroom walls. Last week was a week full of adventures!
🎃 Kindergarten had a blast at the pumpkin patch!
🕷 1st grade walked to Dillon Nature Center for their Spider Hike!
🐜 3rd grade joined Dillon Nature Center for their Critter Crew.
🐮 4th grade spent the day with Buhler FFA at Ag Day.
🔥 5th grade learned about Fire Prevention at Sedgwick County Zoo.

Our Cru Leaders are having a great day learning about and practicing leadership skills at the Cosmosphere today!

Cru Leaders are 4th and 5th graders who completed an application process and were selected to represent their peers throughout the year. Their staff sponsors help them serve their school in various ways, chief among them being a positive influence and working to make sure nobody is left out.

Thank you to the Cosmosphere for planning some rigorous challenges that require all sorts of leadership to be successful. Also thank you to our teacher sponsors: Mrs. Clough and Mr. Cherry at UV, Mrs. Bauer and Mrs. Schmucker at PCE, and Mrs. Engelken and Mrs. Gould at BGS.

If you see a Cru Leader out and about make sure to introduce yourself and shake their hand, they'll know just what to do! 😉

It was another exciting day yesterday as we were able to nominate two teachers for the Kansas Horizon Award! This award recognizes 2nd year teachers who distinguished themselves during their first year of teaching.

Our nominees are:
Elementary: Ms. Emily Montandon: 4th grade at Union Valley (Plum Creek during her first year)

Secondary: Ms. Mattison Perkins: 7th grade math at Prairie Hills
