We’re already at $400 as a group! 💛
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and helped us get this moving.
If it’s easier, you can also Venmo and we’ll include it with our combined donation to PrairieStar.
Let’s keep it going — $2,000 is the goal! 🙌
Thank you, everyone. Let’s do this!
Six20 Serves 💛
I learned about PrairieStar’s dental expansion at the Chamber Coffee this morning, and I’d love for our gym family to help.
I’d also love for this to be the start of something we call Six20 Serves. Every so often, we’ll look for an opportunity to give back and meet a need in our community—whether that’s giving, volunteering, or simply showing up for someone. This will be our first opportunity.
PrairieStar cares for people in our area who might otherwise go without: kids, seniors, people with disabilities, and families across rural Kansas. Their dental team goes into schools, nursing homes, and organizations that support people with disabilities.
Their Dental Outreach Coordinator, Alicia Harrison, put it this way, “There is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a four-year-old with an abscess, a tired expression, and multiple areas of decay, stating that it hurts when they eat.”
The need: Right now PrairieStar has only eight dental chairs, and every one of them is full. New patients wait at least two months just to get a basic cleaning, and the wait-list runs 86 pages. The new clinic will let them see 2,000 more patients every year.
Our goal: $2,000. The gym will match the first $500 donated, dollar for dollar. With $1,500 from our community and our $500 match, we’ll reach our goal. Every cent goes straight to PrairieStar’s dental expansion.
How to give: Hand your donation to me or any staff member, or put it in the check drop box at the gym. We’ll deliver one combined gift from our community before their January 1 deadline.
Any amount helps, and there’s no pressure. It’s a chance to look out for our neighbors. Thankful for the people doing this work, and for the chance to help a little.
