Thank you to Karen Asante and St. Philip Presbyterian Church for organizing The 5000 Ministry this past summer. Through this organization, we were able to pass out 60-70 snack bags every weekend. HLE and our families appreciate you!

Monday is Bulldog Independence Day!

All students will walk themselves (with teacher assistance) to class.

Doors open for free breakfast at 7:15 and students must be seated in class by 7:45.

Thanks for your help with this.

Thanks for a great first day of school!

If you want to walk your child to class on Thursday or Friday, you must bring a government issued ID and check in at the office.

Please arrive by 7:35am so students are ready to learn when the bell rings.

’Twas the Night Before the First Day of School

’Twas the night before school, and all through the halls,
The classrooms were ready, with bright, cheerful walls.
The pencils were sharpened, the name tags just right,
And teachers went home saying, “Tomorrow’s the night!”

New backpacks were waiting, new shoes by the door,
While students wondered what Day One had in store.
“Will I make a new friend? Will my teacher be kind?”
With excitement and butterflies filling each mind.

Then morning arrived, and the buses rolled in,
The doors opened wide, and the smiles could begin!
With high-fives and laughter and welcomes for all,
The magic of learning filled every hall.

So here’s to our students, our families, and crew—
A wonderful year full of adventures brand new!

And the principal called as Day One came in sight:

“Happy First Day to all—our future is BRIGHT!”
