Utah Prep Basketball is thrilled to welcome Kawhia Scirkovich to the family!

The 6’1” sharpshooting guard from New Zealand with Māori heritage, has committed to Utah Prep Academy as he enters his sophomore season. Kawhia represents an elite high-upside prospect making the jump across from New Zealand’s growing basketball landscape.

A quick, athletic two-way guard with lethal range from deep and some bounce at the rim, Kawhia brings energy, shot-making, unassuming rebounding and perimeter defense to the backcourt. It’s going to be electric watching this dynamic guard evolve and apply his craft within our programme over the next few years!

Congratulations to Kaha’i Helm on committing to Utah Tech University to continue his academic and golf career!

Committing as a junior is a testament to the work Kaha’i has already put in, and he still has one more year at Utah Prep to keep developing his game.

We’re incredibly proud of everything he’s accomplished so far and can’t wait to watch him chase even bigger goals during his senior season before joining the Trailblazers.

Utah Prep is proud to welcome John Mapour Madol!

A 6’9 Class of 2029 forward from South Sudan, John brings an exciting blend of size, athleticism, and versatility that fits perfectly with the modern game. Comfortable playing in space, running the floor, and impacting both ends of the court, he possesses the physical tools and natural instincts that give him tremendous long term potential.

John’s length and mobility allow him to guard multiple positions while creating mismatches offensively. As he continues to develop his ball skills, shooting, and overall feel for the game, he has all the attributes to become a complete two way player capable of making an impact at the highest levels.

At Utah Prep, our focus will be on maximizing John’s development every single day by surrounding him with elite coaching and an environment built to prepare athletes for college basketball and beyond. We believe his ceiling is incredibly high, and we are excited to be part of his journey.
