Teacher & Staff Appreciation was recognized at Mountain View with a week of celebrations straight from the farm! 🌻👩🏻‍🌾 The festivities included daily raffle prizes, luncheons & a MVE Market where staff were invited to fill a tote with fresh produce and flowers. These activities would not have been possible without the generosity of our MVE families and our Putnam County business community!

Special thanks to Yes Chevrolet for a $500 donation which provided an amazing catered luncheon from Ridge View BBQ, to Hurricane & Teays Valley Subway locations for delicious sandwich trays and to Krogers & Walmart for generous discounts and donations of produce and flowers.

MVE families and the Putnam County community have so much love for our educators! ❤️🌱 Thank you for helping our children grow!!

Destination: Appreciation! MVE recognized Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, May 3- May 7th, 2021, with an exciting week of travel themed activities. MVE families donated food and drinks for daily events to honor our teachers and staff. Special thanks to the amazing Putnam County Businesses who also supported our teachers by donating items and gift cards for fun daily raffle prizes.

Our wonderful teachers, administrators and staff give tirelessly of themselves day in and day out educating our children, our future! It was a pleasure to celebrate them this week.

Here is today’s membership drive update: 3rd Grade is in the lead with 29 memberships but 5th grade is close behind with 24. You still have time - membership form links can be completed up to Friday, October 2 to be counted for the drive.
Virtual families, this is for you too! We will make special arrangements if your student is in the winning grade to participate in the ice cream reward as well 🍦

Hello MVE Families! Our new online PTO Membership and Homeroom Parent Volunteer Forms were sent out yesterday via email. Please let us know if you did not receive one and we will happily send the information your way.
PTO Membership is SWEET!! Don’t forget to fill out your membership link by this Friday, October 2! The grade level with the most PTO memberships will receive a special ice cream reward. Who will it be?? Stay tuned for more updates this week! 🍦🍦🍦

Please remember that we will be on a staggered schedule beginning Monday, September 28 for Prek- 5th grade. Students with the last names of A-K will return on Monday and then come every other day for two weeks. Students with the last name L-Z will come on Tuesday and then come every other day for two weeks.
We will have Safe Haven beginning Monday. If you plan to use the YMCA please be sure to contact them Monday morning.

Putnam County Schools Meal Information

What is the difference between REMOTE LEARNING daily meals and VIRTUAL LEARNING weekly meal boxes offered by Putnam County Schools?

🍎 REMOTE LEARNING MEALS:
While schools are closed, and students are at home on remote learning, school meals can be picked up DAILY at your student’s home school from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Daily meals consist of one breakfast and one lunch. All meals are FREE of charge!

*If parents do not have access to pick up meals daily, they may contact their School Secretary and request home delivery.

🍏 VIRTUAL LEARNING MEALS:
If your student has signed up for virtual learning this nine weeks, parents must pre-order 5-day boxed meals to pick up WEEKLY on Wednesdays from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at either Mountain View Elementary or George Washington Middle. Weekly meals consist of 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Parents must call the PCS Child Nutrition Office to pre-order meal boxes at 304-586-0500, Ext 1118, or Ext 1119. All meals are FREE of charge!

*Starting the week of October 5, 2020, all VIRTUAL LEARNING MEALS will be made available from each school. Families will be able to pre-order these school meals by calling their School Secretary.

Celebrate National Box Tops for Education Week by downloading the Box Tops for Education app, if you haven't already and start scanning your receipts to earn money for MVE! For this week only, get a bonus Box Top with every receipt scan. Limit 5 per person. Plus, refer a friend to download the app and if they submit a receipt this week from 9/21-9/27, both of you will get $5 for our school! Paper Box Tops are being phased out but from time to time they can still be found. Please save those up for our first submission in November, and in the meantime scan, scan, scan! .
