The Stennis Institute's “Junior Civics Leadership Academy” (JCLA) is a 7-day conference designed for high school students to learn about topics such as governance, leadership, and community development in a fun, hands on manner. In addition to enjoying the unique simulations and workshops that the Stennis Institute have used as their basis for training professionals across the state, JCLA students will also have the benefit of earning college credit at the same time!

JCLA will be hosted on Mississippi State University's campus July 13-19, 2024.

Congratulations!! Abby Stull has been named STAR Student for the 2024-2025 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) M. B. Swayze Foundation, sponsor of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program. Established by the Mississippi Economic Council in 1965, the purpose of the STAR program is to recognize outstanding students & teachers in Mississippi. STAR Students are selected on the basis of academic excellence. Both ACT scores and scholastic averages are compared to determine the school’s STAR Student. Each STAR Student is asked to designate a STAR Teacher, the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to the student’s scholastic achievement. Congratulations, MRS. ALLY LOTT, for being a STAR Teacher!
