So thankful for our amazing PTO for the Friday sweet treat! 🧁💚 What a perfect way to put the exclamation point at the end of the sweetest first week of school!

We are so grateful for the many ways our PTO loves on and supports our Oak Lane staff. What a wonderful first week it has been! 🌳🐾💚

🧁You can’t go wrong with ending the first week of school with a Friday afternoon treat!

We treated our teachers to a Sweet Treat Cart filled with cupcakes and sodas for a quick pick me up today!

It’s been a great start to the school year and we are looking forward to an amazing year! 🐾💚

The smiles are back, the classrooms are ready, and a new school year is officially underway! We loved seeing our Oak Lane students and staff kick off the first day with excitement and enthusiasm.

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I am thrilled to welcome our students, families, and staff back to Oak Lane Elementary for another exciting year of learning, growing, and achieving together.

At Oak Lane, we believe that every child enters our doors with tremendous potential. Just as a tiny acorn needs care, encouragement, and the right environment to grow, our students thrive when school and home work together to support them. This year, we will continue creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.

Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare classrooms, plan meaningful learning experiences, and make sure our school is ready for an amazing year. We are committed to strong instruction, positive relationships, high expectations, and providing every student with the support they need to succeed.

Families are an essential part of our Oak Lane community, and we encourage you to stay connected, communicate with your child’s teacher, participate in school events, and celebrate the many accomplishments that will happen throughout the year. Together, we can make a tremendous difference for our students.

I am excited about all that awaits us this school year and look forward to seeing our students learn, lead, and grow each day.

🚌☀️ SCHOOL BUS SAFETY — SLOW DOWN & STAY ALERT!

Bright and early Monday morning, our big yellow buses will be rolling as we kick off the 2026-27 school year! That means more buses, bus stops, and students on our roads. School bus safety is everyone’s responsibility. 👧👦📚

As you head out Monday morning and throughout the school year:

🛑 STOP when a school bus is stopped with flashing red lights. Never pass a stopped school bus.
👀 WATCH carefully for children getting on or off the bus.
🐢 SLOW DOWN and be prepared to stop in school zones and neighborhoods.
📵 PUT THE PHONE DOWN and keep your attention on the road.
⏰ GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME. Getting there safely is more important than getting there quickly.

🚨 Passing a stopped school bus can result in a $500 fine and five points on your driver’s license. If a driver strikes a child, the offense becomes a felony.

A child’s life can change in a split second. Stop for the bus. Protect our kids. ❤️

Let’s work together to make sure every Person County student gets to school and back home safely!

You asked and we listened! Oak Lane will be selling mums again this year! So plan your list of parents, grandparents, family and friends and be ready for your orders!

🐾 Order Forms will be sent home in school folders before the end of August! Be on the lookout! 🌼 💚

📚💙 Thank you for helping our students start the school year ready to learn!

A huge thank you to Uptown Roxboro and Duke Energy for including our PCS elementary schools in this year’s school supply drive!

More than 1,000 school supplies were donated to eight schools across Person County, with supplies making their way to all six of our PCS elementary schools. These donations provide valuable resources for our students and teachers as we begin a new school year.

We’re grateful for community partners who continue to invest in our students and support our schools in meaningful ways. Your generosity truly makes a difference!

We are so grateful for the incredible churches and businesses that continue to support Oak Lane! 💚🌳

Today, we are especially thankful for Clement Baptist Church for taking such wonderful care of our staff during Back to School Open House. They provided Chick-fil-A to give us the fuel we needed to make it through two Open House sessions—and Chick-fil-A was definitely a win! 🐔❤️

Their generosity didn’t stop there! Clement Baptist Church also financially sponsored each classroom, helping our teachers provide needed supplies for our students.

Community partnerships like these make such a difference for our school, our staff, and most importantly, our students.
