Family and Friends of the garden, Ms. Janie here!
As many of you know and have experienced, life can be pretty weird sometimes, wouldn't you say? 2022, in particular, was definitely a time of personal change, hardship, growth, and weirdness for me. As such, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I come this evening to let you know that I will no longer be able to maintain my role as the Watson Primary and Huntsville Intermediate Schools "Garden Teacher." While the sudden change hurts my heart immensely, I can only look upon the past year as a treasured moment in my life, during which I was fortunate to create precious memories in our beautiful garden, with your beautiful students, that will hold a dear place in my heart forever. Please let your children and students know how special they are to me and how thankful I'll always be to have experienced my favorite personal and professional endeavor along their side.
As I transition out of the position, rest assured that our wonderful partners at the Madison County Extension Office and the UAEX - Madison County 4H Team will be working hard with school officials to find the perfect replacement plan and maintain our garden space in my absence. They are awesome and your kiddos will be in great hands.
I can't think of many things that have hurt more to have to leave than these awesome schools, our amazing students, and their precious school garden. My heart will forever hold a very special place for this time and experience.
May you bloom and grow forever. Much love๐
Ms. Janie McCoy
