“Weather permitting, the road closure at the intersection of Jordan Road and Homer Nance Road will continue into next week beginning Monday, August 30th through Wednesday, September 1st. The intersection will only be closed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. This additional time is required for Huntsville Utilities to finish relocating gas and electric lines in preparation for the roundabout to be constructed later this year.

We will be following new Covid procedures for Daycare pick up starting today. Please sign your student out in the sign-out book, which will be outside of the doors where you normally pick up your daycare student(s). Please either ring the bell or call me at 256-851-4663 and I will meet you at the door and will get your student. I will still need to see Identification for pick up, especially for our new students.

Due to the increase in positive cases of COVID 19 throughout the Madison County School System, we will move to LEVEL 1 of the Ready, Set, Forward Plan effective Friday, August 13th. Masks will be required for all students, staff, and visitors inside all buildings until Friday, September 3, 2021. During this time period, we will reevaluate the level of spread and determine the appropriate level moving forward. We appreciate your support as we work together to keep our students and staff safe.

We’re looking for a few highly trained, ridiculously driven, passionate individuals to assist with kindergarten lunches next week, 8/9 - 8/13! Must have extensive experience in piercing juice boxes with tiny straws, opening fruit cups without a massive splatter, and muscling open milk cartons. Skills in patiently helping five-year-olds enter and re-enter lunch numbers on a key pad strongly preferred. Volunteers needed daily from approximately 11:40-12:40.

While the USDA has extended free meals through the 21-22 school year, it is important for MCSS families who believe they would qualify for free and reduced meals to submit an application as this can help with qualifying for other assistance programs for the family and student. Benefits from completing applications stretch far beyond the cafeteria and support students in our schools.
