🌟 Senior Spotlight: Cadet Mia Chapa 🌟

Recognizing Cadet Mia Chapa, Battalion PAO, for her leadership and dedication to excellence. Through professionalism, discipline, and a strong work ethic, she continues to set the standard across the Bearkat Battalion.

A native of New Caney, Texas, she will graduate from SHSU in Fall 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Forensic Science. A first-generation Bearkat and future Army officer, she will commission into the U.S. Army Reserve as a Logistics officer.

🌟 Senior Spotlight: Cadet Lauren Silva 🌟

Recognizing Cadet Lauren Silva, Battalion S4, for her leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence. Her professionalism and strong work ethic continue to set the standard across the Bearkat Battalion.

A native of Lyford, Texas, she will graduate from SHSU in Fall 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Victim Studies and Psychology. Upon commissioning, she will serve in the Texas Army National Guard as a Logistics officer.

Recognizing Cadet Irvin Prudencio, Battalion XO, for his leadership and commitment to excellence. Through professionalism, discipline, and a strong work ethic, he continues to set the standard across the Bearkat Battalion.

A native of Nolanville, Texas, he will graduate from SHSU in Fall 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Military Science. A first-generation Bearkat and Army officer, he will serve in the Texas Army National Guard as a Military Police officer.

🇺🇸 Leadership Development in Action 🇺🇸

Our very own Battalion Commander Cadet Kaleb Brown, recently attended the West Point Negotiation Project Cadet Workshop, engaging with cadets, military leaders, and FBI negotiators to strengthen his skills in communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

From classroom instruction on crisis management to experiencing cadet life at West Point and completing the IOCT, he gained valuable insight into leadership under pressure.

An outstanding opportunity that highlights continued growth and excellence within the Bearkat Battalion.

🌟 Cadet of the Month: MS3 Roiheem Moore 🌟

MS3 Roiheem Moore was selected as Cadet of the Month following a competitive board process, recognizing his leadership, reliability, and initiative across PT and leadership lab.

He consistently sets the standard through preparation and performance, motivating his peers and contributing to a disciplined and professional training environment. His ability to lead by example reflects the qualities expected of future Army officers.

Almost Friday and the Bearkat Battalion is still putting in the work.

🌟 Senior Spotlight: Cadet Alicia Summers 🌟

Recognizing Cadet Alicia Summers, Battalion S8, for her leadership and commitment to excellence. Through precision, professionalism, and a strong work ethic, she continues to set the standard across the Bearkat Battalion.

A native of Arp, Texas, she will graduate from SHSU in Fall 2026 with a Master of Business Administration and a minor in Military Science. A first-generation Bearkat and Army officer, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SHSU in December 2023.

Upon commissioning, she will serve on Active Duty as a Logistics officer.

🇺🇸 Bataan Memorial Death March 🇺🇸

On March 21st, cadets from the Bearkat Battalion completed the Bataan Memorial Death March, taking on a demanding challenge that tested both physical endurance and mental resilience.

Every step was taken in honor of the Soldiers who endured the original march, carrying forward a legacy of sacrifice, strength, and perseverance. Through determination and grit, our cadets rose to the occasion and represented the battalion with pride.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment to honoring this history and embodying the values of leadership and service.
