Whitesburg Middle School Mach XIII

Whitesburg Middle had a great day of racing at Point Mallard Park today! I'm loving the Ghostbusters 👻 design with a slimed nosecone! We got 3rd place and also had the fastest lap time.

Now, we have 1 week to redesign and prepare for Diverse Power Grand Prix in Lagrange, GA!

The 7th and 8th grade Greenpower teams raced in the Boeing 90s at Buckhorn High School yesterday. Results: 7th grade placed 10th overall and are currently 13th in the nation. 8th grade placed 5th overall and are currently 6th in the national rankings. Go Mach XIII teams!!!

Both teams are competing this weekend at Buckhorn High School!

Some Whitesburg alumni found out about our throwback design to honor the 1st team, and baked us Black Knight themed cookies for this race!!! ❤❤

One week until our next race...

Last race of the year- Grissom Grand Prix. Getting ready for driving practice.

Team leaders, of the 7th and 8th grade Whitesburg P-8 Greenpower teams, accepted a STEM grant from the Optimist Club of Huntsville on Friday Feb. 23. They were awarded this grant due to their presentations of current team goals to the grant committee. The committee members stated several times that they were very impressed with their organization, professionalism, and commitment to the program. Coach Nancy Junkins is extremely proud of this accomplishment!

Both teams have been diligently prepping for the Jemison race on March 10th. King Arthur and Lionheart will be competing in the 6th race under the leadership of Coach Nancy Junkins.

So excited to have IGNITE to sponsor our eighth grade team and visit our lab today!

We are home! It was a great day of racing and amazing experience for our team!! Sir Bedivere had its best run all year with a 3rd place finish! (2nd place middle school with 8th overall in the first heat!!!)
