There are moments when I pause and reflect on the journey—on the milestones, the certifications , the doors opened, the rooms I’ve had the honor to walk into. By many standards, my lifetime achievements are remarkable. And I am deeply grateful for every single one of them.
But if I’m honest… they are not the most important part of my story.
The work that lives closest to my heart doesn’t sit on a résumé. It lives in the lives of children.
Through my nonprofit, Every Child Has a Story, I’ve come to understand something profound: every child carries a narrative that deserves to be heard, honored, and nurtured. Some stories are filled with joy, others with challenges—but all of them matter.
My greatest accomplishment is not what I’ve achieved for myself. It’s what I continue to build for them.
It’s in creating spaces where children feel seen.
It’s in reminding them that their voice has power.
It’s in helping them believe that their story is not something to overcome—but something to own.
Because when a child begins to understand their worth, everything changes.
So yes, I celebrate the journey. I honor the work. But I remain grounded in purpose.
Legacy, for me, is not about recognition—it’s about impact.
And every child’s story is worth investing in.

Remember sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me? Not true. Words can rip away a child’s self esteem and confidence in seconds. Be mindful of your words.

Parentification: occurs when a child is forced to take on adult roles and responsibilities within their family, essentially reversing the traditional parent-child dynamic.
This phenomenon is often described as "growing up too fast" and typically happens when a parent is unable or unwilling to fulfill their own caregiving duties due to factors like mental illness, addiction, or financial hardship.
