Why I Love Working With Children ā¤ļø
People often ask why I enjoy teaching young children so much.
The truth is, there are many reasons.
šTheir capacity for joy is remarkable.
Children can find delight in the simplest thingsāa silly rhyme, a steady beat, a scarf floating through the air, a song theyāve sung a hundred times before. Their joy is contagious! Who wouldnāt want to around that kind of energy?!
š¤Their sense of wonder is delightful.
They notice things adults often overlook. They ask questions, make unexpected connections, and remind me to slow down and appreciate the beauty in the world around me.
ā¤ļøTheir spirits are refreshingly pure.
There is a reason Christ spoke so often about children. Their trust, openness, and wholehearted engagement with life are deeply inspiring.
ššæTheir fearlessness is freeing.
Young children are wonderfully unconcerned with perfection. They sing loudly, move boldly, try new things, and keep going when mistakes happen. There is something beautiful about that kind of freedom.
šTheir authenticity is a gift.
With children, what you see is what you get. Their excitement, curiosity, frustration, laughter, and affection are genuine. They remind me daily of the value of being real.
Every child I teach brings something unique to my music room, but these qualities are some of the reasons I continue to find so much joy in working with them.
Honestly, I think they teach me just as much as I teach them. ā¤ļø
