The 2018 national enforcement mobilization "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" goes into effect across the country from August 15 to September 3, 2018. One of the deadliest and most often committed - yet preventable - of crimes (drunk driving), has become a serious safety epidemic in our country.
As law enforcement professionals and highway safety advocates, your efforts will help reduce the number of drunk drivers on the roads and save lives. By increasing State enforcement efforts, raising public awareness through paid, earned, and social media, and maximizing your local resources, you can make a difference.
Use these enforcement materials to crack down on drunk drivers and increase community awareness of the dangers of drunk driving.

NHTSA offers materials for numerous traffic safety campaigns, including drunk driving, car seats, vehicle safety, distracted driving, and motorcycles. These marketing tools offer a way to get involved through traditional media and online media.
We encourage local, State, and national traffic safety advocates to download and use these traffic safety materials in your community throughout the year and during campaigns. These resources are also available for parents, teachers, caregivers, and anyone who wants to make a difference in their community. WHAT IS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE (DUI) CRASH?

A DUI crash is a crash where
the driver has a blood alcohol
concentration (BAC) result of
greater than 0.00, or had a
positive alcohol test, or had a
positive drug test, or had a
contributing factor of had
been drinking, or under the
influence – alcohol, or under
the influence – drugs, or
taking medication flagged on
a crash report.
