If you missed our first instrument fitting night, no worries! We will be at the 6th grade gym TOMORROW from 9am-11:30am. Even if your student was a maybe, please have them come try out all of our instruments! It’s a fun experience and very one on one. We hope to see you there ☺️💚

FIFTH GRADE PARENTS! This is a reminder that we are having our Instrument Fittings TODAY AND TOMORROW at the 6th grade gym. The times are as follows:

Friday - 4:30-6:00pm
Saturday - 9:00-11:30am

5th grade recruitment was AMAZING!!!! Check out some of our photos and videos from yesterday’s event 💚 Our 2A and 3A were also hard at work with folding and sealing our pamphlets to send out! Make sure to keep an eye out future 6th graders! 🤍

*Firstly, our fundraiser ends TONIGHT at 11:59 PM! Please continue to support as the day ends. Our students are super close! 😊

*Secondly, we will be having our fifth grade recruitment event TOMORROW during PE classes. I hope your fifth graders are excited to have the HIS Band there!!! 💚

Hello everyone!!!

It’s that time of the year: our final group of HIS Band students had their fundraiser kick off today! We are not only raising funds for our band trip to Incredible Pizza this year, but for the supplies and other needs our students will have. Please support us by clicking the link below! Any amount helps, we just want to help our students reach our goal in a safe manner. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped the band program out so far. **IMPORTANT CONCERT INFO BELOW**

Our sincere apologies for being inactive, but we did want to remind our HIS Band families that:

1. Tomorrow is our after school rehearsal at the HIS 5th grade gym! 💚 Green band is from 3:30-4:30 and Hornet band is from 4:45-5:45. Please plan your rides accordingly as it gets darker sooner!

2. Tuesday, December 5th is our winter concert! It will be located at Huntsville HS in the commons/cafeteria area! Green band will have a call time of 5:45 with the concert starting at 6:30. Hornet band has a call time of 6:45 and concert starting at 7:30.

-if your student plays a large, school owned instrument (tenor saxophone, French horn, euphonium, and tuba), students will meet in the band hall FIRST! This is so they may pick up their instruments. All other students will head towards the cafeteria to facilitate any students getting lost. If students are unsure of where the band hall is, please make sure to ask a director that is around.

-please make sure your student has their concert uniform ready. If they have not paid at least their band fee, please contact us IMMEDIATELY. We want all of our students to play, as they have worked super hard this school year. If you would like a reference of what the uniform is, please see below for info and an example:

-band shirt tucked in, PLAIN blue jeans with no holes/tears/extra things, closed toed shoes (no house slippers or crocs), the belt is optional, and holiday wear is okay (no flashing/blinking lights). ONLY PLAIN BLACK LONG SLEEVES ARE ALLOWED UNDER THE SHIRT. NO HOODIES OR SWEATERS WHILE PERFORMING.

Just some highlights of how the HIS Band has been as of late! ✨
*Yesterday was a comfy and rainy pajama day, featuring our French Horn and 2A Clarinet class 🧡
*The 3B Tuba and Double Reeds class has been rocking and rolling!
*5B Percussion is exhausted but living their best lives!
*We are 2 months away from our Winter Concert (12/05)! 🩵

What an AMAZING first week💚 These young hornet band members have been learning their musical alphabet and rhythmic notations. We just had to shout out two of our classes… THE PERCUSSION CLASSES!! Both groups are doing so great and they are already showing their dedication. We have 15 in total percussionists that are working hard every day!

The rental drive will be held in the CAFETERIA from 4:30-6:30!! If you have already ordered or obtained your instrument, please disregard and enjoy your evening.

We can’t wait to see everyone tonight! We also have signs at the gym, main door, and the cafeteria door for help. Parking towards the back is recommended, on the side of Scott Johnson. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!!💚
