We are thrilled to announce that Charlie Wilburn has been named the new Assistant Principal at HJHS!
Mr. Wilburn will join Dr. Bonds and Ms. Brandon to complete our outstanding administrative team. Together, they are already collaborating and working hard to make the 2026–2027 school year an exceptional one for our students, staff, and families.

📢 Huntsville City Schools asks all families to complete student registration by June 30 for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year!
Completing registration on time helps ensure your child is assigned teachers and bus routes, while also allowing HCS to maintain updated contact information for your family.

Ms. Brandon, Dr. Bonds, and Mrs. Bedsole recently returned from an inspiring A+ College Ready Leadership Institute, where they gained valuable knowledge and strategies to help lead HJHS in raising academic expectations and student achievement.
At HJHS, we are committed to providing every student with opportunities to excel, and we are excited to bring these new ideas back to our school community. We look forward to continuing our pursuit of excellence and ensuring success for ALL students!

Celebrating our 8th graders was such a special moment! This group of students has left a lasting impact on HJHS through their leadership, accomplishments, and school spirit. While we will certainly miss seeing them in our halls, we are excited to see all they will achieve in high school and beyond. Once a Panther, always a Panther! Go Big Red!

During the last week of school, we celebrated students who took the ACAP testing seriously by showing up each day, working hard, and demonstrating positive behavior. We were excited to give away 40 gift cards, 4 speakers, and an iPad as rewards for their effort and commitment. We are proud of all the students for giving their best during testing!

Last week, the recipients of the Panther Belt were our amazing staff members! Our school simply could not function without these incredible individuals and all they do each day to support our students, teachers, and school community. We are so thankful for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to HJHS!

This afternoon, we celebrated our amazing 7th graders during the awards ceremony! We have so many students who accomplished wonderful things this school year, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Congratulations to all of our award recipients—Go Big Red!
