Columbia High School Band Program - Huntsville, Al

We are honored to serve as this year's host of the Southeastern Brass Band Festival. For those who plan to attend, please be aware of the redirection of traffic around Explorer Blvd for this weekend's Paracycling Race.

The Brass Band of Huntsville is proud to host the Southeastern Brass Band Festival at Columbia High School, (300 Explorer Blvd, Huntsville, AL 35806) on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 12:00 pm (noon) to 5:00 pm.

The festival is free and open to the public and will feature performances from seven (7) British-style brass bands from the Southeastern Region of the United States, including Alabama’s original and Huntsville’s own Brass Band of Huntsville and the Youth Brass Academy of Huntsville.

Congratulations to the Columbia students who were recognized by Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta at their 46th Annual Honors Convocation for High School Students. We had 10 band students to be recognized for their academic achievement!!!!!

The Concert Band is preparing to take flight to Atlanta, GA to participate in the Minority Band Directors National Association Concert & Jazz Band Invitational. We perform on Friday, April 4th at Lassiter High School at 7:00 PM.

The AAMU Marching Maroon and White Band is inviting high school musicians and auxiliaries to Spring High School Band Day on The Hill. The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 12, will coincide with AAMU Open House and the 2025 AAMU Spring Football Game. Interested students grades 9-12 will have an opportunity to experience a full day with the AAMU band beginning at 8:00 a.m. and perform at the Spring Game. Registration ($50) includes t-shirt, lunch, and more.

Congratulations to the Columbia High School Band on their SUPERIOR stage performance, and overall EXCELLENT rating at the Alabama Bandmasters Association District 1 Music Performance Assessment!!!!!

Tomorrow, March 5th, the Columbia High School Band will participate in the ABA, District 1, Music Performance Assessment at James Clemens High School. This event is free and open to the public. If you are able, come out and support us as we strive for continuing our streak of Superior ratings! We are scheduled to perform at 3:05 PM.

Today's Pre-MPA Festival went great!!!! Thank you to ASCTE (Alabama School for Cyber Technology & Engineering), directed by Stephen Six, and Chapman Middle School, directed by Keane Biggs, for performing today. Also, thank you to Mr. Charles Conner, Assistant Band Director for the AAMU Marching Maroon and White Band for offering words of wisdom as today's adjudicator and clinician. We wish our guests a successful MPA performance next week at James Clemens High School!
