Would you love to do something to help women improve their lives? We are looking for a site coordinator for our First Baptist Church site. 25 hours per week, 32 weeks per year. Spring and fall semesters mean summers and Christmas season off. The site coordinator will oversee the programs offered by Christian Job Corps at First Baptist Church in Huntsville..

What a great first day of class!! We are so excited that these ladies have decided to join us for our Fall semester. Our new class, Small Business Startups, starts Monday, August 24. Classes meet Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 9:00AM-12:00 for 12 weeks. Ladies will explore starting and running a new business. They will learn the basics of marketing, finance, and how to run a business using God's principles. Please share this post with your women friends who want to start their own business. Our Fall semester starts Tuesday, August 11, and we couldn't be more excited!! But we do need your help to provide lunches for our students. If you love to prepare a special meal or just love feeding people, please click on the link below to sign up. Our classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 12 weeks- we feed them lunch each of those days. It is such an encouragement to our ladies to think that someone who doesn't even know them wants to provide a meal for them. Options are to bring a meal, make a donation toward the lunch fund to help provide a meal (go to cwjc.net and click on DONATE, let us know it's for lunch!), or invite your company or Sunday School class to bring a meal as a community project. We are feeding 7 ladies for lunch each day this semester. Thank you so much for your help!!

Brighton Collectibles in Bridge Street will do its annual purse drive this week (July 24-31) to benefit Christian Job Corps students. You can trade in your purse (in good condition) to obtain a discount on a new purse at Brighton Collectibles!! The purses traded in will be donated to Christian Job Corps for their students. Have fun purchasing a new purse and help out our students this weekend!!

Calling all lunch provider volunteers!! Want to help us feed our students for the Fall semester? Links are below for both First Baptist Church and West Huntsville Baptist sites. The Fall semester begins August 11 for First Baptist and August 15 for West Huntsville Baptist. If you are a Sunday School class looking for a project, please consider bringing lunch and visiting with our students while you share a meal with them. You can help in one of 3 ways: bring lunch, pay for lunch to be delivered from a local restaurant, or donate at cwjc.net by clicking on the Donate button and designate the donation for lunch for the students. Thank you to all the past donations of food and dollars to feed our students!! Many of you have been so faithful over the years. If this is your first time to sign up, please contact us if you have questions. Also, please leave the phone number of the person who will bring the food so we can confirm the week before your chosen date.

Our Clothes Closet will be open on Tuesdays in July except for July 7. We will accept professional work attire for women from 10:00AM to Noon on most Tuesdays. Pull under the covered parking entrance at Entrance 7 of First Baptist Church and ring the buzzer to tell the receptionist you are here to donate clothes. She will let our volunteers know you are here so they will come up and get your donation. They will provide a tax letter at the same time. Many of our graduates and students have taken advantage of the Clothes Closet to find something appropriate to wear to an interview and to wear when they start the job. Thank you so much for thinking of us when you clean out your close this summer!
