Thank you Superintendent Sutton for spending time and waving the flag with us today. It was a privilege to host 60 teams at Milton Frank today for a successful and fun Goblin Cup! See you all at a Greenpower_USA race soon!

We truly did not want to cancel today’s race at Milton Frank, but I think it was a good call. The temp is currently 15 degrees and the wind chill much less, snow flurries are blowing around stinging us in the face like needles. We are working on a plan to make up the race soon, stay tuned!

A small group of CTE students from Huntsville City School’s new Center for Technology took a field trip to the Jackson Center and had breakfast with members of the National Space Club. Shown below, Mr. Henry Gray, a Freshman from Grissom High School, spoke to a crowd of 300+! Henry Gray and Greenpower teacher, Chris Whaley, gave a brief presentation on the Greenpower STEM program at the new Center for Technology.

Congratulations to Mrs Joni Graley at Roger B Chaffee Elementary, Mrs Nancy Junkins at Whitesburg Middle School, and Chris Whaley at Huntsville Center for Technology, on being awarded seed grants from STEDTRAIN!

The Science and Technology EDucation and TRAINing (STEDTRAIN) Committee is pleased to announce the award of 10 Seed Grants to area teachers to support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in the classroom for the 2025-26 School Year. Over $19,429 will be awarded through the STEDTRAIN program this year. We received 14 proposals this year, and we subjected them to a very intensive and thorough review process. Unfortunately, we could not fund all the proposals. Congratulations to the 10 teachers with funded proposals. Checks will be presented to the teachers at the awards ceremony as detailed below.
