Huntsville City Schools' students are encouraged to read over the summer break. Numerous studies have shown the benefits of reading, particularly over the longer summer break. Younger students, grades K-5, are encouraged, but not required, to read over the break. A list of recommended books is listed on the district's summer reading program webpage. Students entering 6th grade are required to read a fictional novel of at least 100 pages and give an oral report on that book. Please see the link below for recommended reading lists by grade level and requirements for middle school book reports. https://www.huntsvillecityschools.org/o/hcs/page/2026-summer-reading

Hello Providence Family

Teacher Appreciation Week is quickly approaching (May 4–8), and we are excited to celebrate our AMAZING teachers all week long! We invite you to join us in showing love and appreciation to our incredible educators who pour into our students each and every day.
A flyer has been attached with thoughtful ways you can participate throughout the week.

Join us Friday, March 27 for Providence Spirit Night at Roller Time! This is a fundraiser that will allow PTA to execute more student/family events and show appreciation to our teachers and staff! Mention that you’re with Providence at the door and we’ll receive a portion of the proceeds. We’d love for as many people to attend as possible so feel free to invite friends, neighbors and family to roll with you that evening. Let us know if you have any questions in the meantime and we hope to see you there!
