Ann Moore Quilting

Earlier today, I taught a Sew Steady online class and this is the finished block. You can access the class on the Sew Steady page or YouTube.

Anyone who is an instructor in the Quilting world knows that you end up with several partial samples of your work. What to do with them is always the question. There’s always more quilts, but I was trying to come up with something a little different. I made a couple of zippered bags to hold toiletries in my suitcase. The bags have a clear front and you can see my quilting through it and on the back. They should tuck easily into a suitcase for traveling. I think they would make fun gifts too. 

My kits for my Quilt As You Go class arrived yesterday. Woo hoo!!!!!


We finally had a chance to go to Rodeo Houston today and I got to see my quilt hanging in the lobby of the NRG Center. Thank you for all the kind words from those of you who have had a chance to see it. It will be on display there until March 22. 

Hey everybody, I will be teaching a class of free motion quilting Saturday, May 30 at Fabric Carousel in Huntsville Texas. Please call the store to sign up 936–295–8322. Class will be from 10 to 3. You will need a sewing machine that allows you to drop your feed dogs. Please bring a ruler foot, darning foot, embroidery foot or something along those lines. You will also need a fat quarter sandwich in a solid color. I recommend using a polyester thread. We will be making a small pictorial quilt. I recommend bringing a free motion glider and quilting gloves. I will have products for sale if you choose, but it is not a requirement. $35.00 class fee

I hope some of you remember working on The Pollinators with me in an online class for Sew Steady in 2025. Towards the end of the project, I kept it under wraps as I was preparing it for a juried show. At Rodeo Houston, it has won Best of Show, Best of Machine Quilting, Best in Division, and a First Place ribbon. It will go on to Houston Quilt Festival this fall.

As a follower of my Sew Steady video series, you are likely aware that I am working on a set of placemats for personal use. To date, I have completed six of the eight and would like to post a photo of their current appearance. The beautiful embroidery from Sew Steady is prominently featured in the center of my placemats, with stippling along the outer edges.
