The Cyber program 💻 provides a new opportunity in our nation's high schools that will introduce students to cyber security starting next school year.

Today, Maj. Gen. Johnny Davis, the Commanding General of U.S. Army Cadet Command (ROTC), met with senior Army leaders, representatives from the cyber security industry, education partners and the media to announce the launch of cyber programs for a select number of high schools across the nation. 🇺🇸

The University of Alabama in Huntsville is the host of the official kick off event April 26-27. The Army JROTC Lee/New Century Technology High School Battalion provided a color guard and Cadets to assist with event operations during the first day.

Local cadet wins JROTC Bronze Cross, from New Century Technology High School.

🏅Congratulations to New Century Technology High School graduate Jaylen Ware on being awarded an Oprah Winfrey Leaders Scholarship!

Jaylen was one of only 15 students selected to join the four-year program’s inaugural class! 🏅

Earlier this year, Kieran Moise of Huntsville made headlines locally for cutting his hair and raising $38,000 for charity, to help kids with cancer. The Washington Post Magazine has picked up his story now! Kieran recently graduated from New Century Technology High School, (Huntsville City Schools), and is now at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

It was a very productive weekend! Volunteers cleaned up trash at Chapman Mountain while a second group from New Century Technology High School worked on Bulldog Trail just across the mountain, clearing the way for 600ft of new trail. The PTSA is hosting Day Zero on Friday, July 28th at 9:30am-1pm. Please see the attached flyer.

There are 180 days of classes, studying, homework, exams and so much more…. BUT FIRST, there’s Day Zero. A fun event devoted to playing games, eating pizza and making friends. Current New Century students will be there to help new students get to know the school and get to know each other.
