It’s been a busy and exciting week at James I. Dawson!

We ended the week with plenty of celebration, beginning with the recognition of our Students of the Week. Next, our amazing administration team treated teachers and staff to a special Refreshment Station.

During lunch today, our Math Coach, Ms. Hain, visited students and encouraged our young mathematicians to show their best math skills on the i-Ready Beginning-of-Year Diagnostic, which starts Monday!

Students who work hard and “Meet It or Beat It” by meeting or exceeding their end-of-year scores from last year will be invited to a special Neon Glow Party! 🌟🎉

🎉🦁 Learning, Growing & Having Fun at Dawson! 💜💛
Our Dawson students have been working hard and learning in some fun and exciting ways! We love seeing our teachers find creative ways to make learning meaningful and engaging.
🏎️🔬 Our 3rd graders put their science and measurement skills to work as they designed, built and tested race car ramps with Ms. Simpson!
🍦📚 Mrs. Forsythe’s math students enjoyed an Ice Cream Parlor Transformation Review Day, turning review into a sweet and exciting learning experience!
➕➖💯 And our 5th graders were rocking their skills with adding and subtracting decimals using models! We love seeing students use hands-on strategies to build their mathematical thinking with Ms. Moncur.
We are so proud of our Dawson Lions and our amazing teachers who make learning come alive every day! 💜💛🦁

📣💜💛 On Saturday, our **Dawson Lion Cheerleaders**, with the support of some of our amazing staff members & principals, had a blast participating in the **Back to School Parade!** 🦁🎉

We loved seeing our Dawson Lions out in the community, spreading school spirit, and showing off that **Dawson Lion Pride!** 💜💛🦁

🎉🦁 **A Friday Full of Dawson Lion Pride!** 💜💛

Our students enjoyed a **high-energy PBIS Pep Rally** at James I. Dawson Elementary School on Friday! 📣🎉 Several of our amazing teachers and our **Dawson Lion Cheerleaders** helped lead the excitement as we celebrated positive behavior, school spirit, and what it means to be a Dawson Lion!

The highlight of the pep rally was our **Spirit Stick Competition** between grade levels! Students showed off their school spirit by cheering loud and proud, and our **5th graders** took home the Spirit Stick for demonstrating the **most and loudest school spirit!** 🏆📣 Way to go, 5th grade!

We also celebrated another wonderful week of **Students of the Week!** 🌟 We are so proud of our Dawson Lions and the **hard work, positive attitudes, and dedication** they have shown. Congratulations to all of our Students of the Week! Keep up the great work, Lions! 👏🦁
