This is a great opportunity to see how an academic conference comes together, help shape an event designed to showcase student ideas and research, and gain experience with the collaborative work that happens behind the scenes! Committee members will have opportunities to contribute to planning, organization, promotion, and the conference itself.

Our first meeting will be an informal interest meeting where you can learn about the committee’s responsibilities, expected time commitment, and ways you might contribute. Attending the interest meeting does not commit you to serving on the committee.

Dino Sn**ch + Grab will be held on Monday (August 17th) from 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM. Swing by the MPR to receive your Honors T-shirt. The first people to arrive will score some sweet Honors swag. The t-shirts will be required for Honors Convocation.

Who is ready to cool off in the heat that is Alabama in August with Honors Splash Bash! Get ready for a tsunami of activities to be a part of, whether getting on inflatables, playing outdoor games, or riding waterslides. There will also be a water balloon fight. Not a fan of getting soaked? No worries, there will be tons of fun indoor activities too. This event is all about connecting with fellow honors students in a space where you can relax, have fun, and just be yourself.
Plus, we’ve got lunch covered and yes, there will be delicious snow cones too!

Fossil Frenzy is a laid-back event that fosters a field day environment. Enjoy an afternoon of indoor and outdoor games, including virtual reality, a shooting gallery, inflatables, and volleyball. The first 100 students will receive a free pet dinosaur!

We have a schedule change with Sn**ch and Grab ( the t-shirt pick up.). It has been moved from 1:00-3:00 PM to 10:30 AM-12:30 PM on Monday, August 17th. Everything else is the same. Events with bones are mandatory for all Honors freshmen and we are still super excited!

Mentor Meet Up is our first 2026 Honors Week of Welcome event. This is a mandatory event for all Honors freshmen. Check-in starts at 6:00 PM, but the fun starts at 6:30 PM. You will meet the Honors College Dean and staff and interact with your Honors Mentor Group, led by an upperclassman in the Honors College. We are excited to provide bingo, board games, and a night of prizes as we kick off your college experience. At the end of the night, we will be showing a thrilling movie. This is an amazing way to spend your first night at UAH. See you there!
