I'm Ready to Be Healed...

Oh, this hits close to home right now. I had rotator cuff surgery five weeks ago, and I am still sitting here in the sling typing this out. I haven’t been able to drive, do my hair, or put on my makeup correctly. It’s been a struggle to complete the simple daily tasks I normally do—cooking, cleaning, writing… “all the things,” as the younger generation says.

I have found myself saying, “I can’t wait to be healed,” but if I think about it, the downtime has taught me so much. I’ve learned not to take things for granted. I’ve sat and studied new skills I would have previously overlooked or not paused to learn. I have been creative and reflective, something I would have rushed through life and overlooked or not attempted to do. I’ve also had the chance to reshape my system and schedule for my life, receiving the rest that was needed. All of these things I would not have experienced if I were healed physically.

See, this time has allowed me to heal mentally and internally. It’s shown me who will show up for me sincerely. When you’re down, God will show you your village. When you’re not in the mix, or when you’re broken and isolated, healing…God will place your true crew in your space. He will separate the “men from the boys,” and for elevation, you need that clarity! It has also allowed me to lock into God tighter! What a wonderful feeling! There’s nothing like His presence!

So now, when I say, “I am ready to be healed,” I mean I am ready to go through the slow process of breakdown and repair, so when I come out, I will be stronger, faster, and more clear-minded, as well as whole in spirit.

Be with You all day...

Isn't it interesting, when you find yourself in love with a person, or even highly smitten (yes an old term) that you want to be around them? You want to learn them, experience enjoyable moments with them, understand how they operate, what their ways are, what they like, and go out of you way to display actions they would find favorable!

What a euphoric feeling. Something you crave. Oftentimes to fulfill a desire, hole or space in your life where there is a longing for companionship or friendship, joy, understanding, fulfillment, and peace. Or even just to be a help mate, support, or accountability partner.

Today, after a Bible study, I was given a charge to be with God, all day, in confession and communication. Now, this seemed like it would require alot, upon receiving this direction...but then I thought for a moment. If, perhaps, it takes no thought to be with a person I say I love, to desire their presence, value the peace they bring, respect the ability to be transparent and trust them with my thoughts and my being..Howso would it be a challenge to convene with the maker, the lover of my soul, the creator, the doer of all things? The one who has been tested, tried, and proven, and has given me more than enough in times of concern, worry, fear, and confusion.

Sometimes, instead of a simple remembrance, and hearing, we need to deploy the word He has given us. Come back to the well, lock into to the master. Sup with Him and ask for direction and clarity. Return to the place of peace. Long to be transparent with the one who knows us best. Find joy and fulfillment in Him!!

The wonderful thing is you can do it right now!! Be with Him, all day! You love Him, right? The same way you desire that earthly man or woman, your desire for Him should be stronger.
