Huntsville City Schools announced plans for graduation ceremonies to celebrate the class of 2025. The district will host commencement exercises on Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 at the VBC Arena located at 700 Monroe Street.

For the families that pay for private school now, they can take their $7k a year in tax money and invest it since they don’t *need* it. After 18 years, they can gift this money back to their child.

I was talking to a strong Republican the other day explaining School V0uchers. His mouth was wide open saying, “wait, what? Why is that a Republican agenda? That goes against everything Republicans stand for!” and I said, “I know, right? It’s not a Republican agenda, its a dark money agenda and our spineless & corrupt elected officials have bought into it so they can stay in power” and he said “we are all in trouble”

Why am I so vocal? Because our elected officials are CORRUPT! They don’t work for us, they don’t work for Huntsville. You don’t “represent” us, and then vote against our schools!

VOTE THEM OUT!

They forgot the last one: which is social media fights between truth and opinion.

The amount of people who were telling me what was “happening in my kids’ schools” having never stepped in them was astonishing.

I never desired nor imagined being on school board, but it fell into place for a divine reason to save public education.

I will continue to fight this attempt to ruin something our community holds so precious.

I detest this this organization that actively lobbies against public schools with erroneous messaging like this.

We have a “Surplus” in education budgets because our local schools have a SHORTFALL! Every year we beg just to have the bare minimum covered.

This year, the state only covers:

39% of our nursing costs
72% of PreK costs
46% of transportation costs
21% of SpED costs
17% of our capital costs

That isn’t a surplus, honey, that’s the state deciding that private schools deserve our funds.

When you test the premise and were wrong about private schools being superior to public schools.

Alabama just chooses not to fact check, like always.

Yall feel good sending tax money to this school? How do they get approved? Where is the accountability? The High School is technically a home school program. Why do those kids get $7k? How can we ensure kids who “graduate” actually did as rigorous of work as our public students do?

School Choice Is Not What It Sounds Like The movement’s ultimate objective is to put an end to public responsibility for education entirely.

Happy New Year to everyone except the Alabama Policy Institute and the garbage legislators who they gave awards to for voting against public schools last year!

The schools that know what they are doing put every resource they have into Kindergarten and 1st grade. Reading coaches, interventionists, aides and principals should be in those classrooms DAILY! No child should go to 2nd grade behind. Not a single one!
