Shining Students Tutoring Shining Students Tutoring provides personalized K–12, AP, and college tutoring plus ACT/SAT test prep in Huntley, surrounding communities, and online.

We support math, science, reading, writing, and executive functioning with individualized instruction. You and your student will feel comfortable working with Shining Students Tutoring. Our tutors support students from kindergarten through college in various subjects (including ELA, STEM, and ACT/SAT prep) and have experience working with students with special needs, advanced/AP students, and adult learners. We offer individual lessons and small group sessions in person and online. Our tutors assist with current classwork and use our resources to fill in gaps in foundational knowledge. Many students return each year to build upon established relationships.

🎉 The June ACT scores are out!

We’re excited to celebrate one of our students, who improved from a 29 composite score to a 35 composite score in about one month of ACT preparation.

This student came to us with a strong foundation, a great attitude, and a willingness to put in the work. Through targeted instruction, strategic practice, and consistent effort, he achieved an outstanding result.

A 35 composite places a student among the top ACT scorers in the nation, and we couldn’t be more proud of what he accomplished.

We’re honored to share that Shining Students Tutoring has been named a Best of 2026 Award Winner for tutoring services in McHenry County. This recognition is especially meaningful to us because it is based on feedback from the families we work with every day. Our goal is to provide individualized support that connects directly to what students are learning in school while building confidence. Thank you for your trust and support.
