⚽️ A GREAT NIGHT TO BE A COUGAR! Varsity Soccer delivered a 7–0 win over Lanham tonight! We loved seeing so many of our Class of 2026 alumni back on campus, and hearing our fans sing the Alma Mater together in the final two minutes was the perfect way to close out the game. 💙

Happy Alumni Thursday! 🐾🎓

From high school best friends to standing by each other on their wedding days, Erin Bodmer ’19 (now Erin Galindo) and Maddie Carrino ’19 (now Maddie Wendt) have shared quite the journey!

Erin and Maddie met at Calverton, where they were both three-sport athletes, playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. After graduation, Erin went on to Lynn University, where she played women's lacrosse and graduated early in 2021 with a degree in Finance thanks to the 38 IB credits she earned at Calverton! Maddie attended the College of Charleston, earning her degree in Data Science.

This past year, the two best friends stood by each other's sides as they both got married! Maddie's younger sister, Katie Carrino ’21, was also by her side on her special day. Katie graduated from the College of Charleston in 2025, where she was a goalkeeper for the women's soccer team.

Congratulations to Erin, Maddie, and Katie! We love seeing the friendships that begin at Calverton continue long after graduation. Once a Cougar, always a Cougar! 💙

Thank you so much to the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, Squad 2, for visiting campus and teaching our Lower School students all about fire prevention! 🚒🔥

Our students had an absolute blast learning important fire safety tips, exploring the fire truck, and spending time with our local firefighters. Thank you for taking the time to make fire prevention education so much fun for our students!

Congratulations to Judy Yang ’27 on being named one of just 15 finalists in the 2026 Raíces Essay Contest! 🎉

Organized by the Embassy of Spain and its partners, this year’s contest received nearly 400 essays from students across the country exploring Hispanic history, culture, and roots in communities throughout the United States.

Judy was joined by Calverton teacher Nicole Gonzalez at the beautiful awards ceremony at the Spanish Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., where all 15 finalists were recognized for their work. As part of this special honor, Judy’s essay will also be published in a book!

We are so proud of Judy for this incredible accomplishment and grateful to Ms. Gonzalez for being there to celebrate alongside her. Congratulations, Judy! 🐾

3rd Grade took a trip down to the Calvert Marine Museum! 🐟🌊

This hands-on experience gave our students the opportunity to learn more about our area’s history, explore the local environment, and see what makes the Chesapeake Bay region so unique!

To bring all the energy to the classroom, our faculty and staff know a good cup of coffee is a must!

We’ve got spirit, yes we do! 📣

Last week, we took a break from our uniforms and dressed up for Spirit Week! Our Cougars had some fun with each day’s theme and brought plenty of Calverton spirit along with them. Go Cougars!
