The Calverton School The official page for The Calverton School. Calverton is an independent Preschool-12th grade school in Huntingtown, MD.

Small class sizes offer a dynamic and individualized education. Calverton offers the IB Diploma Program in the Upper School. The Calverton School is a college preparatory, day and boarding school located in Huntingtown, Maryland, approximately 45 minutes east of Washington, D.C. and 30 minutes south of Annapolis, MD. The school is situated on 153 acres with modern facilities--sports complex, natur

e trails and forests, streams, and marshland on the Patuxent River, and a Residential Village. We enroll 420+ students in our Preschool through Grade 12, and all of our graduates are accepted into four-year colleges and universities. The majority of our students come from five counties, including Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's, Anne Arundel, and Prince George's. We are accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools, the Association of Independent Maryland Schools, and the Maryland State Department of Education.

Yesterday, members of our administrative team attended the 12th Annual Women to Women of Calvert Regional Summit as a Pink Sponsor! 💗

Hosted by the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce at the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort, W2W brings women together from across the region for a day focused on leadership, professional growth, networking, and connection.

We were especially proud to hear from keynote speaker Tamika Tremaglio, a Calverton parent of Reece ’23, who delivered a phenomenal keynote!

We are officially 7 days away from the first day of school on August 26, but the fun starts the day before! Join us on August 25 for Orientation and our annual Community Picnic! 🎉🎉🎉

East Coast Iron Works has a special connection to Calverton through the Rader family. Lara serves as President of the Calverton Parents Association, and her daughters, Lyla ’36 and Livia ’40, are current Cougars. We’re grateful for the Rader family and all they bring to our school community!

Calverton teacher Frauke Bowen and alumna Marisa Giaco have stayed close over the years, continuing a special tradition of reuniting in Key West. The second photo takes us back to 2015! 🌟

Marisa shared how her time at Calverton helped shape a lifelong love for lacrosse:

“I picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time at Calverton in 1997. I fell in love with the game, played for 10 years, and have been coaching ever since. In 2015, I started the southernmost high school girls lacrosse team in Key West, FL. The life lessons I learned by playing team sports at Calverton have made a profound impact on who I am as a coach.”

We love seeing the friendships formed at Calverton continue through the years. Thank you, Frauke and Marisa, for sharing these photos with us!

Our Calverton alumni did an awesome job at the OC Lax Classic this past weekend. 🌊

Kyle '17, Bradley '19, Vincent '19, and Otway '20 had a great time back on the field while raising funds for HEADstrong Foundation . The HEADstrong Foundation is a non-profit organization that offers financial, residential, and emotional support to families affected by cancer.
