Over the course of the program, students will learn invaluable acting techniques and exercises that are both fun and essential for children interested in the industry. Not only will your children learn how to develop an appreciation for acting, but also build their confidence through public speaking and performance. The skills that will be taught at The Drama Department will be useful in every asp
ect of your children's lives. Whether it be in preparation for an audition, school speech project or job interview, the curriculum taught to our students will provide invaluable tools for future success. At The Drama Department, we will explore the world of acting through theater games, improv and acting exercises that will enhance your child's imagination. These exercises will help your children build their confidence as they explore and become comfortable with performing in public. Students will primarily be learning the Stanislavski method, and introduced to the basic techniques for this discipline. The exercises seek to enhance a students concentration through understanding of the dominant senses (sight, sound and touch), and help them think creatively and use their imaginations. Students will learn problem-solving and response skills that will be utilized during improvisation.
